Here me out on this one! Is Tupac overrated as a lyricist? I’ve listened to him lately and though I am a HUGE fan of his, he just doesn’t seem to have the raw technical ability of a Kendrick Lamar, Biggie, Nas, etc. This is NOT a question of legendary status as he has far and away had the biggest cultural impact, the world over, of any hip-hop artist to date. I just feel that Tupac has had a bit of the Kurt Cobain/Heath Ledger effect. That is, he dies and is given an untouchable status in all criteria because of his death. Thanks!
Truth, because Tupac died he has been given some legendary status, and
he is defiantly not a technical lyricist by any means. what people like
myself love Tupac for is his truth. Listen to anyone of his songs again
and you can tell he is being truthful and giving you 100 percent of his
heart and emotions.
Check out this new artist Gia medley. Her first mixtape dropped on Jan 31 and i think you guys with enjoy her work. She’s raw and spits fire!
i think you should make a video and do a fantasy draft label. You guys pick who goes first pick any current MCs to start a record label. I wanna say a max of ten MCs. That would be dope. Me and my friends did this. I had second pick. My label end up being eminem,Jcole, kanye, big krit, lupe, nas, xv, macklemore, hopsin, and jean gray. i think i won by far. But i think this would be a dope epidsode.
With 2012 coming to an end and 2012 being the year of the hip-hop clique with OFWGKTA, YMCMB, GOOD Music, MMG, TDE, etc; which group do you think had the best year overall?? looking into how they grew/changed, record sales, and of course influence.
