The Decoders – I Am The Black Gold of the Sun

Yes, yes, yes! This is one of my favorite songs and I’ll give it to The Decoders, they did it justice. Rotary Connections “I Am The Black Gold of the Sun” is often a slept on old school jam that not many may be aware of with good reason. It was released in the early 70’s. Minnie Riperton was actually a part of the group. It had a slight increase in popularity as neo-soul became the thing years ago and is a bit more known but unless you were into old school soul music like that, you probably never heard of it. They added their own flavor to it giving it Brazilian sound to it which gives it a bit more bounce.
