RDGLDGRN – Doing the Most (Official Music Video)

January 23, 2014 by deadendhiphop

DC-based trio RDGLDGRN premiered their video for “Doing The Most” on Pharrell Williams’ lifestyle blog i am Other. The video, which is the fifth visual from their critically acclaimed debut the Red Gold Green LP (Fairfax/Universal), follows the loose, uplifting narrative of the band’s journey from quitting their jobs to working with musical legends, such as Pharrell Williams and Dave Grohl (both of whom are featured on this track and in the video). From recording with the likes of Grohl and Pharrell to hanging on the soccer pitch to being at home in their community the video for “Doing the Most” offers a glimpse into the lives of one of this most eclectic bands around, and shows that hard work does, in fact, pay off.

RDGLDGRN are about to kick off their 2014 touring with a spot supporting Aer on the “Word of Mouth” North American tour. This run will start January 31st in Boston at the House of Blues, making its way out west, before looping back home to the east coast culminating in a hometown show at The Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. Other notable dates include a two-day stay in New York City at Irving Plaza, a night at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles and a pair of performances at SXSW. Following the ‘Word of Mouth’ tour, RDGLDGRN will join Outkast, The Black Keys, Jack Johnson and The Killers at the Hangout Music Fest in Gulf Shores, Alabama this May.

RDGLDGRN are known for their ability to seamlessly blend punk rock energy and hip-hop bounce with thoughtful indie rock compositions. Their debut was recorded earlier this year at Fairfax Recording Studio (on the site of the iconic Sound City Studios) with noted producer Kevin Augunus (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Cold War Kids). The band’s unique sound attracted the likes of such musical luminaries as Dave Grohl (who drummed on the record and has publically endorsed the band) and Pharrell Williams (who collaborated with the band on the track “Doing The Most”).
