Whoa. Saw this going down last night on Twitter (@kbinge) and now I can finally hear what happened. Apparently Nicki Minaj took offense to the following statement from Peter Rosenburg:
After that, Lil Wayne canceled her appearance and Minaj did not perform. I think that’s some bullshit. Nicki owes her fans the opportunity to see her perform. After that, Funk Flex decided he wanted to get in on the action and had this to say:
Oh Funkmaster Flex and his crusade against commercial hip hop. The irony of him making those statements while playing a commercial song by a commercial artist is not lost in the moment. Now that you’ve heard them for yourself, what do you think about all this? Was Nikki Minaj and Lil Wayne wrong?
YMCMB makes shit so what’s to be surprised by whenever you find them doing stupid shit like this…
Anyone remember that Slaughterhouse show in NYC when Joe Budden got arrested and couldn’t perform. I went to that show and Rosenburg was on stage and he took some jabs at Nicki in front of the crowd. So I think he’s being sincere and not doing it for attention/ratings/press/whatever. So no biggie on him for stating his likes or dislikes. As for Nicki not performing, can’t say anyone should be surprised. But as a professional she still should have help up her end of the agreement. Also “Lil Wayne canceled the performance”…are YMCMB artists’ incapable of standing up for themselves? First Pusha goes at Drake and only Wayne responds, now this? Wayne’s got to get his hands off the strings.
