News | Keyshia Cole Regrets Nicki Minaj Single?

December 22, 2010 by deadendhiphop

Ummmmm, Keyshia Cole dropped her latest album Calling All Hearts but she apparently regrets her first choice of lead single, “I Ain’t Thru“. You know, the one with Nicki Minaj. I cannot fault her for that selection. After all, Nicki was the hot at the time. Why not try to ride that momentum. Attempting to make it a statement record, but it didn’t quit pick up momentum like her second single is currently doing. At the behest of of her record labels request, she opted to go with that record instead of an “intense, soulful record”.

“…I really should have followed [their] direction,” she told the AP. “But I wanted that to be a statement record. It’s like saying, ‘I’m doing me, you know. I don’t have no regrets for nothing that I’m doing.’”

Keyshia plans to go on tour in March with either Nicki Minaj (see, no hard feelings) or Monica, Faith Evans, Melanie Fiona and Tank. Which one do you think would be better? Decisions, decisions.
