This is my favorite album of the year so far personally.
Long Winter is actually my favorite track on the album. I thought the same thing, regarding its heavy feel to it, but it was raining that day so I didn’t pay that much attention to it. I thought it was the fucking rain and clouds combined with my windshield wipers moving back and forth, back and forth, back and forth giving me a hypnotic, entrancing feeling like that pendulum that swings back and forth while you sit on a couch explaining your life’s failures. Then Long Winter came on and my spirits were lifted. Coincidentally enough, the rain stopped as I moved further along 285. No shit. This was last Tuesday when I was going to Little League practice. I remember being a little upset that I canceled practice due to the rain. I will give it another listen to pick up the therapy session analogy that you mentioned. I’ll just make sure it’s sunny as shit outside.
I totally agree with everything you said man. This album is the best project I’ve heard since Cunninlynguists Oneirology. You can really fucking tell that he just poured the last 3-4 years of his life into this. From Eyedea passing to losing his father (hence the title). You just got him man and I loved it from start to finish. The only thing I disagree on is this being his best project even though its perfect I still prefer The Balancing Act over this. But yea man dope review I’m glad to hear someone else’s thoughts on it. And yes the album artwork is awesome. I just got The Balancing Act on vinyl signed and numbered and when I get the chance I think Ima order this on vinyl as well just cause of the artwork.
Wow. A lot of people say that The Balancing Act is better. That’s interesting. But I’m just glad that so many people are digging his music! Thanks for the comment, bro.
