Music Video: Jowin – Wallflower

March 7, 2013 by deadendhiphop

Celebrating acceptance of self and escapism from the status quo, Wallflower is the leading single from Jowin’s third solo effort, Project:Rebloom. Released on iTunes in February on Vintage Records, the six song compilation’s experimental production, animated vocals and colorful lyrics are comparable to The Abstract (Q-Tip) in his early Tribe days.

The Nigerian-American born lyricist, music producer and songwriter combines his obsession of Japanese anime with a melting pot of influences ranging from The Pharcyde, the LA beat scene, New Jack Swing and an upbringing he describes as “awkward.”
