Magestik Legend: “DetroitMental”

May 4, 2018 by Michael Stover

When you ask someone about Detroit, you’re bound to get a ton of different answers and even more so when you ask a hip-hop artist about the impact Detroit has had on their life. Detroit born emcee Magestik Legend says none of us truly know Detroit the way he does and this is expressed in his latest single “DetroitMental”.

“DetroitMental” is the last single from Magestik Legend’s upcoming album “All This Time” which is slated to release a week from today. “All This Time” is self-produced by ML and the production on “DetroitMental” shows how wide Legend’s arms can stretch in the producer field. The changeup in the middle of the track has Magestik Legend taking a slower approach and it sets the tone for what’s to come with “All This Time”. From his work with the Black Opera to his solo efforts, Magestik Legend has always been about songwriting over just bars (while still dropping bars) and I expect the same for the upcoming project. Check out “DetroitMental” below and remember “All This Time” drops next Friday, May 11th.
