Kool Keith – Goodbye Rap [Video]

June 25, 2012 by deadendhiphop

Normally videos go on our Tumblr page however today is an exception as I catch up on a few notable post sent our way a few weeks back. First up, the video for Kool Keith’s Goodbye Rap song from Love and Danger. With Love & Danger, Kool Keith hints at, and toy with the idea of, retirement, most of all with the album’s latest single and closing track “Goodbye Rap.” Keith opens the song calling out new artists, DJs, and business people that don’t properly represent the music. And while taking a shots at imposters, Keith also takes the opportunity to set himself apart from the bunch: “While everybody was fat, cooking sausage,” raps Keith, “I was wearing Ostrich/ Rap ain’t been the same since I had it hostage.”
