I was skimming through Giano’s album he sent over back in May, B-Sides and Remixes, Vol. 2, and came across the two tracks below that caught my ear. Spirit vs. Flesh is a really nice track and is one I would definitely play on DEHH Radio (hint, hint). I think, for me, the beat reminds me of something that Talib Kweli would rap over back in the early 2000 era. All in all, nice beat and nice delivery from the emcees so I can mess with it.

The second track below, Prelude To A Love Song featuring Sinous, is another one that has a very laid back, smooth beat and the hook is nice. This is another one that has a very early 2000’s sound to it with the R&B hook and vocals. Ah, I got it, it reminds me of a neo-soul hip hop. Dj Jamad, who is masterful at what he does, was great at finding these type of tracks to fit his Afromentals series (which I highly recommend) back when neo-soul was popping. This track I could totally hear on a neo-soul mixtape.
