Obsession isn’t always a detrimental thing as Prozack Turner points out in his latest music video “Obsession,” produced by G Koop. Prozack is a member of Oakland’s Foreign Legion, one of the most underground musical forces I’m aware of, and he wears his underground reputation as a badge of honor. Talent is unnecessary when you have a genuine, obsessive passion for what you’re doing. This obsession helps sets Prozack apart from the copy/paste artists we see every day, the ones hiding among our friends and loved ones like an incurable infection of mediocrity and Twitter spamming.
According to HipHopDX, Prozack is working on an album titled Not Everybody Sleeps At Night including features such as Guily Simpson and Casual from the West Coast collective Hieroglyphics. I’ve respected Foreign Legion ever since I learned of their existence years ago, so I’m always on the lookout for new stuff from their squadmates. “Obsession” is one of those songs in which the general message of hard work yielding the best product can be applied to our own lives, just one of the reasons it’s so uplifting. Watch the video below to see what I’m talking about.
