Pennsylvania Lyricist Carl Kavorkian and German Producer Lou Cypher have teamed up for their collaborative album, “The Happiest Sad Face.”
The first single, “Laying Hands” is an eye opening first glimpse into what THSF will be bringing to the table with it’s dark, off kilter sound which can only described as an intense adrenaline rush. “Half Full/Half Empty” is the independent musicians’ anthem melodically seesawing between life’s responsibilities and one’s desires to chase your dreams and goals. “The Art of Blacking Out” explicitly describes alcohol fueled moments and the consequences of giving in to bad decisions.
I am listening to it now and I have to say, I like the first few songs I have heard so far. It’s a good break from the stereotypical hip hop we hear on a day-to-day basis.
