walterFrench’s “The City” is a monster of a hip hop banger with all of the makings of a summer anthem, including a guest verse from one of the hottest up-and-coming LA emcees, Glasses Malone. The video pays homage to the city of Los Angeles and is just as upbeat and engaging as the track itself.
The passion and perspective represented in walterFRENCH’s music comes from a lifetime of learning. Moving back and forth between his native Marietta, Georgia and Oceanside, California as part of a military family growing up made Walter “learn how to be diverse” according to the now full-time Cali-based entertainer. “I had to get along with different ethnic groups and adapt to being in different cities, states. I learned how to vibe with anybody”. It’s that eclectic array of influence Walter developed as a child that has led to the truly unique artist he has become as a man.
Walter has written and co-written for Iggy Azalea (on “Pu$$y” and “Hello”), Skylar Grey (“He Did It”) and Teyana Taylor (“Her Room Remix”), but it won’t be until the release of his debut EP The Français Project this summer that we’ll get a full glimpse into how special of an artist he really is. The Français Project shows such promise that one of the brightest up-and-coming labels STRZ has signed on to release it. STRZ, a team of well-vetted professionals on both the creative and business side of music, are quickly developing a track record of success and Walter could prove to be their biggest release to date. With Walter’s talent on full display and a strong team behind this release it’s safe to say that walterFRENCH’s status will change from sought after writer to rap superstar once the world gets ahold of The Français Project.
