Timothy Welbeck: “No City For Young Men” [Album Stream]

October 20, 2017 by Michael Stover

Philadelphia emcee Timothy Welbeck is here with his album “No City For Young Men”. Now Welbeck is also a professor, attorney and contributing writer, making his approach to the LP massively different than what we’re used to seeing. “No City For Young Men” will be coupled with a college course and eventually a book.

Welback’s production is rooted in boom bap and Welback’s album is telling multiple stories from multiple angles. We’ll have a review on the album next week and an in-depth interview with the Temple University professor soon, for now stream “No City For Young Men”. I personally suggest “From The Corner To The Coffee Shop” the beat’s perfect and everyone brings verses that paint vivid pictures depicting the black experience.
