As most of you know Atlanta’s homegrown conference A3C begins this Wednesday, with a gang of conferences and shows to fill your hip-hop appetite. We’ll be there covering the festival all week long with coverage and today we’re starting with Part 1 of our A3C playlist series.
For this one we wanted to keep it simple and give you guys some names you know and mix some artists that you might not have heard of just yet. We also tried to do a Side A/B type deal, so the first 7 or 8 joints have a more underground feel and halfway through we switch it up and Side B of this playlist is for the turnup. We’ve got IDK, Kirk Knight, Smino, Wifisfuneral, Nas, Masta Ace, Bahamadia and more.
You can stream the playlist below, A3C begins on Wednesday and will have conferences running through the week that you can check out HERE. Keep it locked because we’ll be giving you 5 Conferences You Must Check Out at A3C here on the site tomorrow!
Bay Area artist Jesse Medina teams up with rap legend, Kool Keith for his debut single “Chasin Franklin‘” off his upcoming collaboration with Granjer Records.
The single is a left field blend of jazzy, Brassy sounds and boom bap crafted by producer Mr. Aeks while the emcees bring their own personal intrinsic goods to the table with plenty of off beat, graphic imagery to match.
“Chasin’ Franklin” is now available through all major digital retailers and streaming platforms, and is set to be featured on Granjer Records’ forthcoming compilation LP Thiswaywestward. The track is also accompanied with the release of a comic book that details Jesse’s adventures with the eccentric Dr. Octagon. The comic is available at select comic book retailers in the LA and the Bay Area, and can be purchased directed via Soft Comics online, and requesting a copy.
