In an incriminating animated music video for “Mount Kushmore,” Mount Rushmore has been remodeled by Snoop Dogg, Redman, Method Man, and B-Real, possibly to remind us that these artists are immortalized hip-hop representatives. Mount Kushmore was released as a single for Neva Left, Snoop’s latest studio album that dropped on May 19, 2017. One of my favorite parts is when Donald Trump asks “So who do you think did it?” as if there’s no evidence. The animation style is quite cool and each artist has a distinct personality. I think the song is also swell. I can understand why someone might think this video objectifies cartoon women, though. It certainly achieves a 90s vibe and enhances the grandiose ridiculousness that can be obtained only through animation.
The video has a few references to weed, but you might miss them unless I mention it here. It also features a great number of people shaking their butts and breasts. I would count the butts for you, but my criteria may be different from yours if a frame-by-frame content analysis were conducted. For example, does it matter if the butt is shaking or inert? Can we count the same woman more than once? What are the rules on front and side butt? Rather than get into the geometry of butts, perhaps you should watch the video and make your own calculations and judgement. Check it out below, but probably don’t do it in an office environment.
