PremRock – Step Right Up [Prod by Yuri Beats]

October 29, 2012 by deadendhiphop

PremRock released this Yuri Beats produced track “Step Right Up” as the first single from his upcoming conceptual project “Mark’s Wild Years.” The project will explore Tom Wait’s catalog and re-tell it through the culture of hip hop. Some of the topics covered are Consumerism, religion, foreign prostitutes and more. Yes, I said foreign prostitutes. Haha. PremRock is pretty dope so I look forward to checking this one out.

Far from a traditional “cover album” the project exhumes some of Waits’ most moving works by either sampling or re-creating musically a re-interpretation of the original work. Prem’s lyrics adhere to the concept of the original record drawing inspiration while crafting his own style on top. Easily one of the boldest concepts of the year, PremRock hopes to turn on a new fan base to the music of his favorite living artist, while creating another album that stands on it’s own in his catalog.
