Music Video: A-Wax – Gun Range (ft. Compton Menace)

February 14, 2013 by deadendhiphop

On February 26th, A-Wax will release his new album, Jesus Malverde, via a collaboration between Illburn Records and Wax’s own Pie-Rx Recordz, and, following behind the recently released “Work” single, which featured Waka Flocka Flame and Ca$his and was produced by Southside, A-Wax is today releasing the video for “Gun Range,” which features Black Wall Street rapper Compton Menace.

A-Wax, in collaboration with director Brian Reyes (of Sigmond IV Multimedia), consistently delivers high quality visuals, and “Gun Range” follows in the long line of top-notch productions, joining other recent Jesus Malverde video “The Shooter.” The track, produced by Nonstop Da Hitman (Juelz Santana, Tech N9ne, E-40), is darkly melodic, driven by a creeping, staccato synth plucks and brooding horns, and A-Wax opens the track with the type of direct, hardened honesty that’s become his specialty. “I just came home from prison, what kinda welcome is this,” he raps. “Seven years in the system, I went through hell in that bitch/ Right back out in the mix again, what compels me to this?”
