Malik Ferraud @malikferraud “Infinity” Album Review

Malik Ferraud is one of my favorite under the radar rappers. I’ve been following him for many projects and have been a fan of his bars as well as visuals. One of the goals of an emcee is to make a body of work that will be timeless and spoke of years to come. I believe this was the idea that Malik had in mind for his new project “Infinity“.

Malik starts the album off with one of the best intros that I’ve heard this year with “Ask for“. The production is great and Malik really gives us some things to think about within our possessions and objectives of life. Malik isn’t afraid to experiment with his sound. We can see that with tracks like “Top Back“, which not only is catchy, but works well with his flow. Malik teaches us to “pay attention to how we listen” with this project. I love his flip/perspective on “Picture Perfect” and how he dropped the Tupac vocals in it.

Overall, this is a great listen. This project is within the top of projects I’ve heard this year. Malik brings back the boom bap, yet brings his own flavor and style that makes it sound fresh and current. Doing things like that, will ensure his “infinite” status within hip hop. We should be hearing more of Malik in the near future and his consistency with his music and shows should make him a contender for next year’s XXL Freshman running. You may not respect Malik, but you will respect his work effort. Check him out and let us know what you think.
