Two thirds of albums set to be released on June 18th have been leaked on to the internet ahead of their scheduled release date. Mac Miller’s second studio album which features guest features from Earl Sweatshirt, Ab-Soul, ScHoolboy Q, Action Bronson, Jay Electronica, Tyler the Creator and more seems, from the first few singles, to be a step away from Mac’s previous efforts.
One reason for this departure of his usually uptempo frat boy sound, is the sound of the production on the album. With placements from Flying Lotus, Pharrell, and Diplo artists he wouldn’t (or couldn’t) get on his earlier projects. Lastly, Mac under the name Larry Fishman has be self producing a good amount of material from himself and collaborators.
Update: He seems cool with it.

Will this leak hurt his sales? Does an indie artist have a harder time protecting their album from leaking? What do you think about the album?
