I introduced Oakland, California emcee J’Von to you guys last year when he teamed up with LAKIM for the damn near perfect “Left” EP. However J’Von really bursted onto the scene with the work he’s done with Minnesota producer Ackryte. The two have put out two albums and last week they released their third project “Raw Sheep”. J’Von is at his best here bringing a diversity of topics and gets more personal with the listener. Ackryte’s production is clean, smooth and yet still manages to bang in the whip. I’ve had this album for a minute and it’s one of my favorites from the year so far. Stream the joint below and pick up the limited edition vinyl, I know I will.
