Donald Glover gifts us with a double whammy on “Summer Pack”

Donald Glover comes out of nowhere and delivers what he called Summer Pack, a 2 track release that exudes the hottest season of the year. In his usual fashion, he gives no explanation and just Beyonce‘d it on everyone on the internet.

Summertime Magic

The track is pure smoothness in every sense of the word. The vintage vibe is undeniable and at times his inflection reminds me of early Bobby Brown summer records. The production is pure nostalgia put on wax and Donald brings a wide variety of influences on the track from 90s RnB, electro-pop and some sprinkles of soul music as well.

Feels Like Summer

The second tune titled “Feels Like Summer” has an alternative, pop/soul vibe and doesn’t quite stray from the summer theme. It is somewhat dreamy and ethereal which makes it pretty engaging, to be honest.  Apparently, these tracks serve as one-off material as he is preparing for his This Is America tour alongside Vince Staples and Rae Sremmurd. The tour kicks off on the 6th of September tour tickets and merchandise available HERE
