In a perfect follow-up to The Mountain Will Fall, DJ Shadow has released a new EP entitled The Mountain Has Fallen. The EP released on Thursday, July 6, under Mass Appeal Records and includes some strong features. These are names you may have heard before, such as Nas, Danny Brown, and Steven Price. At just four tracks, it’s really worth a listen. I’ve always appreciated short EPs when I have a lot I need to listen to. It’s a quick play-through and there might be bangers present. In terms of sound, it’s a solid surprise EP if you ask me.
DJ Shadow is also out of the office for his 2017 The Mountain Will Fall Tour. I saw him last year in D.C., and it was a pretty good time aside from this guy who blitzed the front of the crowd when he heard the beginning of “Building Steam With A Grain Of Salt.” That one’s a real crowd pleaser, but I’m glad he played his newer stuff and we can continue to watch him experiment. The new EP is below, and a list of tour dates below that. You can purchase tickets here.
