When is it ever a bad time for some new Wu-Tang Clan (excluding the Martin Shkreli thing)? In case you missed it, the Clan’s new, RZA-produced song “Don’t Stop” released Thursday, but in an odd setting for a premiere. The song was released as part of the soundtrack for season 4 of the HBO series Silicon Valley. I can’t attest to the quality of this show, but I do hear good things about it from my friends. For example, they’re always telling me, “No, I don’t want to hang out with you, I’m watching Silicon Valley.” They watch it on demand, so they could hang out with me, they just don’t want to. Do not cry for me.
I personally think “Don’t Stop” is pretty great, and you should give it a listen. The song features Inspectah Deck, Raekwon, and Method Man. Lyrically it feels reminiscent of “C.R.E.A.M.” If you’re interested, check out the entirety of the Silicon Valley soundtrack including artists such as Danny Brown, DJ Shadow, Nas, and Dr. Octogon. The album released through Mass Appeal Records, so it’s no surprise as to why the tracklist is so excellent.
